Speedo needle not iluminating
the light illuminating my speedo needle has gone! the rest of the dials light up OK, but at night I can't see the speedo needle (Which is a tad unnerving!).
I haven't checked any fuses yet, but I've also noticed that the auto light option doesn't work - can't imagine they're related but .......?
any ideas? am i going to have to get to the back of the speedo dial, and if so does that mean dismantling half the car?

Thankfully it comes apart real easy on a D3. As well as guides (and experience) on here there is a youtube video too.

is there a link to the guide to get access to behind the speedo and display etc.?
Is it likely to need a replacement LED etc.
vehicle is a 09/2009 D4 3.0TDv6 GS

Hi All
Did this ever get a fix, my wife's D4 2010 HSE has an intermittent fault where the spedo dial illumination disappears, I know its a old post but I thought it was worth an ask.Discovery 3 SE gone but not forgotten.

Sorry Dave - nope, I never got it sorted. We've just used the digital read out. You get used to it after a while.
