Sorry for the late reply to your question, I missed the email!

If you haven't already done it, yes the earth point is in the drivers side wing, makes life nice and easy!

Let us know how you get on with fitting your kit Thumbs Up

it’s been took cold, Big Cry and in the interim ive started making up some sleeving for the wires

think i will mount the t max display where the infoscreen normally goes as i’ve got the base model

got the enduroline leisure battery and extra mega line fuses,

do u think using a 60 amp fuse will be suffice

thks so much once again and will indeed update this as i progress Thumbs Up

Looking good mate, are you any further along with fitting it yet as I'm terrible for replying late?!!

The fuse size depends on how many amps you will be drawing off, I fitted an 80amp inline fuse and thats been fine for my needs so far. As long as your fuse doesn't exceed 100 amps you should be fine.

I recently saw a picture where someone mounted their T Max inside the lid of their cubby box........that looked cool 8)

hi

i haven’t actually , being a softy southerner it’s been too cold Whistle

have put a few items together to ensure i’ve got everything , made up abit more of the loom , might wait till it gets warmer in jan /feb but will indeed update it with pics here

i saw that ref where it was fitted in the centre console and is a good idea

there won’t be too much load on it, reasons to have some extra lighting when i go camping

did get some 60 amp circuit breakers and been working out where the best place to mount it , pleased ive now at least got a CTEK 5.0 so can put that on until i finally get round to fitting it

thks again

gary

hi Iceman, that is a great write up but just a quick question, are you able to close the cover where 2nd battery sits? and what is the bracket you have used to secure the battery plesae?
i am planning a t-max split charge system as well, how do you like it so far? any electrical issues etc or it works how it should?
many thanks!

Sorry for not replying, I missed your post!

The black plastic cover closes absolutely fine, the same as the main battery cover. I haven't used the system too much but it's really handy to have when you want it. In all honesty I forget it's there when I don't need it! No issues whatsoever, it just works when you need it.

Chrishy has answered your bracket question Thumbs Up

Michele

I have the T Max system and also charge via the tow socket.

The system works by sensing when a high enough voltage is present to assume the engine is running and capable of charging the batteries. At this point it activates the solenoid and the battteries link and they both charge.

What I have found is that when you are charging via the tow socket, initially the system thinks the engine is running and so it will link the batteries and both will charge.

After a while though the voltage required drops and the systems clicks on and off as the voltage varies.

I therefore just disconnect the multi plug on the controller if charging to prevent the solenoid clicking on and off all night.

So it will charge the second battery, kind of, but how the systems behaves once both batteries are quite full is not ideal IMHO.

Other chargers may cause different behaviour.
