Spotted - Odd Registration |
|
This is a difficult one to post, while remaining within the "don't quote a full registration" guidelines... If it offends the Mods, please remove!
I was travelling south on the A9 on Friday and spotted a nice silver Discovery heading north, just crossing the bridge over the Tay at Dunkeld. The registration clearly read as DISCO D and was spaced like that. It was powering north and I couldn't tell in the passing whether it was a D3 or D4. Looking up the most obvious registration (with the numbers being 1 and 5) shows that registration is on a Ford Transit.
A search on here shows a poster offering for sale a similar plate, with the C replaced with an O, saying it can easily be made to look like it reads Disco. But DVLA has that one still allocated to a D2, untaxed and with its last MOT in 2011. Not on SORN, so the number is presumably on retention, with the vehicle scrapped.
I'm now perplexed as to what other combination might have given the impression that I saw. The only other explanation I can come up with is that either of these numbers has recently been transferred onto a D3/D4 and that DVLA is yet to catch up.
Anyone on here know the answer? Previously:

Ah! That would work, thanks! Right colour, too, so that nails it! Previously:
