Squeaking sound from right front wheel |
|
I have this squeaking sound from right front wheel, when driving in 30-50mph(2010 disco 4 with 66000km on the meter) It stops when touching the brake pedal, or when I do a slight right or left turn on the steering wheel. I also have a slight vibration when touching the brake pedal, it disappear when braking harder. I have new disks and pads(5 months), could it be the wheel bearings?

Could just be a slightly sticking pad/caliper or build up of dust or indeed a wheel bearing, jack it up and give the wheel a good shake at the 12-6 and 9-3 positions and a good spin, take the pads out and have a look see what you find

I've had this. Pads and disks were replaced under warranty a while back, but I think they cured the symptoms rather than the cause, which I think is the caliper.
I have complained to LR dealer since, but every time they take it out, they can't reproduce it.
But it's now squealing so badly and peeving me off, I visited a BMW dealer today and all going well, I may be part-exchanging soon
