Cleaning I agree with. Having to strip an assembly each and every time after getting the car dirty I do not. If it was a simple matter of spraying the hose around the wheel, it would be a pain but at least it would be achievable. You can't even 'just' take the wheel off to clean the EPB - it has to be a strip down of the brake assembly. Disco 5 HSE Lux

Agreed, it isn't acceptable that the owner/user finds themself stripping down the brake assembly. The problem here is that nobody seems certain what is causing the EPB to go out of adjustment and admit debris into its inner workings. If it is dirt on the actuator or cable gradually working its way in that is causing the brake to go out of kilter, then sympathetic (not a 200psi jet wash) external cleaning will help, but as most of us take the time and effort to get the crap off the underside of our cars after off-roading that clearly isn't the whole solution.
There's no question in my mind that there is a design fault but it's tracing the root cause in the system that is proving difficult for all parties. I'd be surprised if Land Rover aren't doing continued trials and testing of the EPB using LRE and G4 cars at the moment, given the amount of grief it's causing. Trouble is we don't seem to have anyone from LRUK posting on here, although it's often commented that they do read our posts (god help them). The lack of public acknowledgement of the problem isn't helping consumer confidence. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I have never changed park brake pads in my life nor do I ever expect to even on the D3. it is a glorified wheel chok. Mr Landrover will get them shoved up his  if they ever need changing. cable adjustment is all I have ever done.

I have the dreaded noisy park break. Dealer wants to charge £150 to remove all the wheels, clean and adjust. Is this right?

I would say that if the car is under warranty, it should be fixed free of charge.
Mine has been done once in 28,000 miles and from the noise it started to make on Saturday morning (before hogmoor!!)
It will be getting done again shortly. And I won't be paying!!!!!! Welcome "Lola"

I phoned LRCC about this - they will only strip and clean the EPB under warranty on cars less than 12 months old. Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.
