Having a short break Sitting in a cottage on St Ives harbour.
Up early to get a Cornish pasty and a cuppa but after a night in the Sloop inn and several others it was probably not the best idea to get up early
Loads of D4's about but no stickers. Where are you all??
love the place but couldnt stay there to hectic , we stay at Trevornik in Holywell
when we go to St Ives we use the park and ride and catch the train down , you get great views of some cracking beaches
We're staying in the Hobbit cottage, couldn't get closer to the harbour. Can't get into the RNLI building though as there's a big maintenance job going on.
When I was down there last, the RNLI has recently taken delivery of it's new Shannon-class life boat. That was a piece of kit 8)Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! The day we arrived they took delivery of a sacking great big movable slip way. Bloody huge tractor unit that scoops the boat up. It has always amazed me that it's all charity funded and yet one of the most professional outfits on the water.
I've never seen anything like it before. I'll try and get a pic up later. Made a small donation aswell.

I live in Hayle (St Ives ugly sister) now as a 'local' we don't bother with St Ives till the season slows down.
Then walk to the station, take the train, and have beer at Pedn Olva hotel by Porthminster beach.
Love it.
I saw a RNLI practice launch in May and it was very good, great people.
My bro was swimming from Carbis bay to St Ives and back and one of the off duty chaps was in his own boat and asked him if he was ok? Top chap.
Brother was just practising for his iron man.All things shipping, storage, transport. UK and worldwide.

Hi Guys. I've got stickers too. I'll keep my eyes open for you both. Same as you Dave, we wait 'til out of season and on a nice day get the train at St.Erth and have a wander around St.Ives. Get caught out thinking the train will not be too busy, but hey ho, it's full of like minded folk who live in Cornwall doing the same thing. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

I will look out for you Geoff.
Last time I was at St Erth 3 coaches full of our German friends rocked up and maxed out the poor little train.
We tend to walk to Lelant it's about 4 miles from our door.
