Where to start.

Has anyone the faintest idea where to look for the following:
Two weeks ago I parked up and locked the car as normal. On locking, all the doors locked but the alarm sounded. Car unresponsive to buttons on fob, entered through passenger door, buttons on dash for locks unresponsive, car won't start, immobilised. Took neg off the battery and put back on, everything back to normal except for it somehow killed my alternator.
Fitted new Denso alternator. Fast forward two weeks. Locked the car two nights ago. Doors locked and alarm sounded. Car unresponsive to fob and buttons on dash and would not start, immobilised again. Removed neg from battery, replaced and everything is fine (no dead alternator this time). I changed the sunroof drain and did the wire splice last summer when I was having central locking issues too before anyone suggests that.
No bloody fault codes either! 😩😩

That sounds annoying. Assuming you’ve checked the condition of the battery, then the next thing I’d look at would be the bonnet switch.
Good luck Thumbs Up

Battery was new last year. I'll test it at work in a bit. I'll check the bonnet switch too. Going to have a dig around this morning, see if I can shed any light on to what's causing it.

Hi

could I ask what other issues you before the splice fix as I have issues with my central locking at the moment .
It is unlocking and relocking itself repeatedly to the point have drooped the lads of the battery
Thanks

Phil.
