Starter motor removal.... aaargh!

How on earth do you remove the cables to the starter motor? Topix instructions helpfully say"reposition the insulation" which I've done, and also removed the solenoid connection but can't get a spanner onto the remaining connector - shown just above the red insulation in my pic. What size spanner? Anyone know?
Otherwise, I'm well on my way to doing the secondary turbo drain mod. Thanks to Ridgeback-moor for his write up. Quite a lot of oil came out of the intercooler - more than half a pint.

Thanks in advance.
Dave

Thanks Mikey.
Looked about 13 from eyeballing it but couldn't get the socket to stay on... Starter now fully loosened which hopefully will give me another angle to get that meaty cable off...
Next time I do it, it will be easy.

Just keep stripping, then you won’t have to worry about the next time. Whistle Whistle

13mm socket and a couple of flexi joint extensions. I found cutting 5mm off the end of the stud helped a lot when refitting.

The key to successful starter removal - for me at least - was to undo two clips that hold the fuel lines adjacent to the starter, then move the lines out of the way. Also, undoing the cover for the starter power cable (just above the fuel cooler) lets you move the fat red power cable out of the way of the starter. After that, it was pretty straightforward. Just expect scraped knuckles.
Move the starter forward when free, tilting the front end down slightly. Eventually you will have room to tilt the forward (non pinion) end down towards the ground and a space between the chassis, lower suspension wishbone, and ARB.
Thanks all for your advice.
