It’s not that difficult
Working under the car.
On the drivers side
Undo the 1 bolt on the fuel heat exchanger and swing it out the way.
Disconnect the 2 wires.
The small one has a captive nut
Undo the 3? 13mm? Bolts.
Then the difficult bit. Giggle it out.

battery was off as soon as I started doing the timing covers pal , think after work today im going to steam clean a couple of areas and that mite help the situation , both the front skid plates are missing so I think its allowed a lot of crap to get to / build up in places the skid pans would usually stop it getting to

Needs clarification - Is starter Motor On UK Drivers side?
I have a TDV6 Auto and have removed the heat shield on drivers side (Right hand) but cant see anything that looks like the starter Motor. Is it meant to be on Passenger's side( left hand ) for UK?
Please Help Clarify.

it is on RH next to gear box. To get it out is easy, to plug it in again is a pain. first time it took me 20 mins, next time 2 hrs and 3rd time.....Achim
