When starting cold won’t rev and struggle idling

When starting from cold, the throttle pedal is unresponsive and it’s barely idling and battery light coming on then after 60 seconds. Throttle is responsive and vehicle operates normally.

I’ve just had that. It was one of the egr valves stuck open.

Egr are blanked off. Glow plugs do need replacing I’m guessing it’s struggling to ignite all the fuel in every cylinder that’s why it’s struggling when first starting. I’ve got a set of glow plugs coming. What’s the best stuff to free them off injector crack etc?

Good quality penetrant sprayed for a few days before then get engine upto temp. Plenty of little extensions

On a 2006 they are gonna snap.

Maybe research one of these mobile guys that can drill them out for £700 if things go wrong.

No one else with failed glowplugs have poor idle though

Maybe injector ? Check balance

I get that if I preheat the coolant with a remote FBH W-BUS module, but only if the coolant is near to normal operating temperature. Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes for revs to pick up and charging to start. Maybe check your coolant temperature sensor resistance isn't sending out higher reading than expected.
