The 16" question aside, you can get 3 17" alloys for the cost of one of those steel wheels. So for me, it was an easy decision between cost versus potentially ruining a second hand alloy wheel. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

It's obvious that if you can get 3 17" genuine alloy wheels for 100 euros, go for it... and why not with a brand new Mud Tyre on it, delivered free to your home and with a gentle kiss from cindy crawford...
The fact is.... that I could not even find the very first part of this scenario...
So let's be serious and compare what has to be compared: a genuine LR alloy (new: 400 € ?), BB performance reinforced alloys (300-ish €/piece) or these ones (say 100€).. if someone is now sufficiently desperate to give his disco for free, good for you but this is not a normal situation..A second D3 ! This time with all whistles and bells (Auto, 7seats, Diff Lock, RAI, all kinds of protections, winch, Extended range tank, iPod adapter....)
First time twice the same car ! and first time third car of the same brand !
I'm loving it !

I am assuming that is each, in which case what advantage is there to be gained from paying £340 for a set of steel wheels against £200 for a set of genuine alloys off ebay
I'm not dismissing the point, just struggling to work out what the advantage is
I would love to buy a set of alloys at 200€. Just don't find them....Some people get by

So you can get them as cheap as 30 euros per wheel?
Please send me 4 second hand 18" alloys in good state.

Mehari,
Could you post some pictures of your disco with the steel wheels (and tyres) on.
If it looks decent, I might be strongly interested.

Maybe someone on the forum near Northampton can help you out with collection and delivery if you want to buy them!
There are lots of sets of wheels come up on ebay, and plenty of wheels at £50 each(ish) sold in the for sale section of this site! I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I got 4 secondhand 17" LR alloys with brand new Cooper STT's for 131GBP per corner (fitted and balanced). They came from AJS but I'm sure price for the wheels will match demand and availability. I not only had your ropes in the back of my car but 5 wheels and tyres as well...
18" are definately going to be more expensive The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Mehari - post in the Wanted/For Sale section. When I was looking I got two offers for 17" at about the price ratio I mentioned.
I appreciate the problem is going to be getting them across the channel but don't underestimate the power of the D3 courier network It's worked for me within the UK; to Lux; and even from Ireland to me.The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Damn...if I'd known that was possible I would have paid Andy @ AJS even more money... The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

That's for sure... but hey - the tyre was second hand as well so I wasn't counting that in the price comparison above... The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
