steering angle sensor

Hi I have been having problems with my DSC activation coming on when turning right hand bends
I have been looking at my steering angle sensor and i note that there is about a centimeter of rotational play between the yellow ring and the shaft is this normal

Sensor ring should be a tight fit on the steering shaft.

I have rotated the steering wheel from lock to lock and the sensor does move with the steering shaft and seems fixed but whatever the position of the steering wheel their seems to be approx 1cm rotational play

Have you read the data while driving?

Steering angle sensor causes so many issues with something as simple as a worn ball joint throwing out he readings, then HDC Error and Suspension locked etc. MY15 BMW 5 Series Touring
Porsche 996 C4 911
Need another Disco to fiddle with.

Hi thanks for your help

I note that their seems to be some slop in the sensor between the shaft and the green ring it will rock by way of pulling /pushing on one of the green ring tabs

is this normal

All tyres and tread are even, the green ring is wobbly on the steering shaft

any thoughts
