My car won’t start says electronic steering column lock stuck code b100d with the AA engineer managed to get started and get home any ideas AA man is not LR trained , and says needs to go into dealership,

Car is in the dealership it requires a new steering lock module, and it’s not covered under LR select warranty, even though it is a historic fault and previously failed when under the full warranty, dealership asking for good will from LR but I am expecting the bill
