Steering issues and insite

Hello all, new here and just bought my first LR3. 2006 LR3 SE 4.4 V8 134,000 miles. Former jeep guy but love this rig and when I bought it I was aware that it had a bit of loose steering and needed tires. Other than that it is in great shape.
So it has loose steering, kind of rough when hitting small bumps at low speeds(like backing out the driveway) and when I do it jerks the steering hard. Also wonders and it does roll a bit in corners.
So here is my question. I know that the lower steering shaft UJ will need to be replaced, but what else should I replace, boots or bushings etc. I'm looking to do all this before new tires and alignment as to not put any additional wear on the new tires.
Any help and part numbers and places to purchase parts would be much appreciated. I do plan on doing as much myself as able too.

Certainly look at the arms/bushes. If financially able may be worth getting them done for peace of mind anyway

by arms and bushings are you meaning the steering link and boot with TRE? I'm also going to change the sway bar links and the sway bar bushings. I know that those are typical to compress and go south. I'm sure that will help the rolling in corners.
I'm not super verse as of yet to specifics on these rigs just pulling from my jeep days. I know from reading on here that this thing has a rack but unsure if there is drag link, tie rod or pitman arm.

Where is the best place to get good RE parts besides the Land rover dealership. Kind of pricey. Looked into getting a new key(spare) and it was 500 usd. Holy cow!

Hi Welcome to the forum.
If you look at this link to one of the forum sponsors , ( They do ship to US), it will give you an idea of the various parts , and names to which we refer, such as Sway bars we know as anti-roll bars!
https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/steering--suspension-12-c.asp
Worn roll bar bushes will give a knocking and as you mention, the lower column joint as well . There is no pitman arm , the steering rack has side rods connected straight to the steering knuckle.

Ok, thanks. That helps a lot. I feel kind of disoriented because of that. That web page surely helps, like how it shows the diagram too.

Sounds to me like it needs lower arms (or just bushes if you can be bothered) and a 4 wheel alignment to follow... There are some basic tests to do such as braking suddenly t low speed to see if you detect a 'clonk' and picking a particular rutted track etc to nail it down. TBF you could do worse than stick it into a garage to lift it and inspect the bushes?

Oh ok. Lower control arms and bushing. I’m tracking now.
Sadly I do not have a garage. Though I do have a shade tree. Laughing
I got a price today for the alignment and it’s not as bad as I thought from a reputable LR mechanic.

*just an update*
So dropped my rig off at my local indie and they looked her over and found that its the tie rods and front and rear sway bar bushing. They also said that the air struts were going to need to be replaced soon because of the age and mileage of the vehicle. They also built up a list of maintenance stuff.
So orders my new inner and outer tie rods kits, sway bar bushings (front & rear) and sway bar links (front & rear). Also got the Proud rhino lifting rods.
Going to try to tackle that this up coming weekend as long as we don't get any super foul weather.
After that is alignment and tires.

So having said that should i do the alignment first then tires or tires then alignment?

Get the tyres done first THEN alignment as the old tyres may have wear patterns that could impact on the new alignment.

The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)
