steering wheel vibration

Hi all
Apologies for all the queries: i noticed a slight vibration when turning at reasonable speed - and wondered if it was the power steering kicking in or something as it seems to come from the steering column and the base of the steering wheel. it feels like something is kicking in rather than a fault but just wanted to ask advice as i have never driven 4x4 before.

Could be steering arm ends worn?
If you have it on full lock you can get a loud noise if stops are not greased.
Wher are you in Sydney?

i am in the inner west - its been inspected and there were no noticeable problems - i just wonder if i am going round corners too fast - its more like a creaking sensation than vibration actually - feels like the steering wheel needs greasing...weird as it sounds. could it be traction control?
