Should be a lot less stress though. Thumbs Up

Friends X5 was a nightmare and expensive same gerarbox as Disco? needed replacing, Steelers don't rebuild they replace.

My mates Hybrid X5 has been a nightmare. It developed a fault that the dealer couldn't fix and it ended up with BMW UK who sent it back to Germany. It was away for 5 months. To be fair BMW looked after him really well but time will tell how it goes.

Also my old biz partner had one. £1600 for a set of new tyres Shocked

Good luck. Its a different beast but they handle surprising well and are very comfortable. Thumbs Up

Yeah ride is super smooth even with the runflats. I will be replacing them with normal tires though.

Transmission on the Disco was a a 6 speed ZF and on the X5 it is 8 speed ZF. it does feel lot smoother so I imagine it is completely different than the 6 speed

It does have a lot of grunt, it is isn't slow as the disco, it is basically same engine 3.0 liter twin turbo but paired with the sport M suspension it does pull quite a bit

I’ve had 2 X5’s and I can’t fault em, in fact I’ve still got one and it’s a great car, although the Disco (I've had 2 3’s and a 4) is a brilliant car and has great all rounder they can’t compete with the performance, reliability and economy of the X5 and the spec, ie heads up display, Harmon kardon system, touch screen, digital dash... in fact the only thing I don’t like is the servicing costs and it’s cr*p in the snow
If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

I went from a 2016 landmark to an x5 after the crankshaft went on the Disco, still miss the disco, but the x5 is a great car, tows well, much more economical and is extremely agile and quick, especially given its size.

Not tried it in the snow, as not really seen any, probably because I fit winter wheels and tyres in the winter, so hopefully it should be ok if we get any bad weather.
