Still water in passenger footwell
Been suffering for over a Year now, carpet is drenched on passenger side
Car is normally parked on a slope nose up and water is collecting in front footwell in front of B pillar and in rear footwell in front of C pillar
I've checked the following
front and rear Sunroof drains checked and cleared, water runs freely
Aircon drains checked and cleared
Outside A Pillar covers checked and new clips/ seals fitted
Mod to the air intake for pollen filter/ heater to divert water getting through Scuttle
No evidence of water inside A pillars
Also getting a significant amount of water trapped at base of door between door and body seal in heavy rain - circa 1/2 to 1 Litre pours out when you open the door, not sure if it's cause or effect of the water in the car
To check at the weekend -
Windscreen leaking
Door seals
Any other ideas gratefully received? Mark

Have you cheched the sunroof drain elbow .... SWMBO's car suffered the same problem and even though the sunroof drained freely the elbow joint had split and water continued to fill the footwell. The cure was the new modified elbow which is much stronger..

The solution to my unexplained water ingress starts about 1/2 way down page 2.
Might be worth checking.

Mark, just thinking about where you are; have you checked that the drain isn't blocked under the battery (N/S) on the D3 where the ECU sits as it can fill up with all sorts of leafy crap and then end up frying it if left unchecked? (don't ask me how I know ) El cheapo USB boroscope thing is perfect for this though...and theeeeennn......???
Surprised that, as you have an HSE, you only have "Still water".
I thought with having a posher car, you'd have sparkling.

Have you checked to see if the doors are filling up with water?
It may seem odd, but I had this on a Citroen many years ago. Unexplained water ingress was eventually traced to the rear door, on which all the drains were blocked solid by wax!
In rain, water would get into the door, this is normal, and it’s designed so that the drains at the bottom let it out safely. However, with the drains blocked solid, the water built up in the door until it overflowed into the car from behind the door trim. As it was a rear door, it wasn’t opened regularly so I never noticed the sloshing of water.

You can get a smoke bomb to help find possible leak areas and they are quite effective.

I have had this issue with one of my Land Cruisers. What had happens was that the aircon water drain in the firewall had split and water was draining into the firewall and leaking into the passenger footwell. Not sure whether the aircon drain is similarly placed, but maybe a consideration?

can't help with finding it but i would keep going until you do. Had it on my last D4 and it caused a shed load of issues. Was the sunroof tubes causing it but they had to replace modules, wiring looms and carpet due to water ingress. Thankfully the car was under warranty but it took them a week to sort it.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Thanks all for lots of advice and new ideas,
I'll check the ECU/ battery area, I've got one of those nasty cheap endoscope things .
Door investigation is interesting as I'm definitely getting a lot of water trapped between the two large seals (one on door, one on body) which might be getting over/ under the inner door seal
I drained around 1.5 litres of (Still - Hardware17 ) water out of the front and rear footwells this morning!
Looks like Sunday afternoon will be the time for lot's of investigation Mark

Hi all,
I have a similar issue - one day opened the passenger door and "swooosh!" like a bucket of water came out
What I checked:
1. Poured water into the drain holes. Note that if you pour too much or in the wrong place - it will come from under the roof thinking that there is the problem, however it is all fine there.
2. I've got the cheapest endoscope camera off amazon and inspected the elbow behind the fuse box - it is badly damaged, so this is most likely the source of the leak... waiting for spare parts to arrive.

If you're really unlucky like me it ended up being the complete lack of bonding for the front box sections. I don't know the specifics as it was fixed by the LR main dealer.
I had a front passenger footwell full of water every time it rained and I was parked slightly uphill.

Has anybody heard of the heater matrix letting water in from the seal on the body? Also is there any other pipes or drain in the a pillar? Where does the jetter pipe for the rear screen run?
