Is there a simple way to stop the car 'waking up' regularly apart from disconnecting the battery?
A fuse or similar.
There are times when my commercial does not get used for a week or so, and where it is parked does not have electricity.
Need the alarm function and obviously the ability to lock and unlock.

wrong time of year for best effect but have you thought about a solar powered trickle charger ? .

Thought about it, but previous experiments with my truck didn't prove successful.

I have to say that I have a Maplin (so sad to see them go... what a gap in the market they left imho) trickle charger which plugs into the live 12v socket.

I have a 2013 D4 Commercial and particularly with the lockdown periods of time, it has regularly stood for a month or more and starts first press. It may crank slow with a block full of cold oil but it always starts.
Are you saying yours will not 'survive' for a week or so if it is left alone (with no additional charging)?
I bet there are many on here that stand their cars for weeks at a time. Time for a new battery?

When you say waking up, do you mean when you just open a door? It’s a problem on mine when camping etc. Just the act of opening the door wakes up the infotainment, which draws a lot of current.
You can disable the lights by pressing and holding the on/off button for a few seconds. Doesn’t save much power though.

Would a week or so cause much problems. Mine normally get used weekly at most often 2 weeks. I know the battery might start failing prematurely. Should I look into changing? 2015 D4 HSE Loire Blue

The constant waking up during periods of being locked brings my battery down to a point where it might start, but for instance the FBH won't fire up.
2 weeks left alone and it won't start.
Yesterday I did a 400 mile journey, this morning the battery had 12 volts, so not sure it's the battery, I am going to 'bridge' the bonnet switch just in case, but was wondering if a simple pull of a fuse would let it (and me) 'sleep' peacefully.

If you figure it out, Dave let me know - I've talked about this a couple of times such as here.
An option in the settings menu for 'eco mode' or similar, accepting the delay to infotainment/sat-nav, would be absolutely perfect. I'd settle for a simple relay or switch if someone designed and sold such a thing. Not sure if it's even possible whilst retaining alarm, etc .
As per my post in the link, it's a right faff when camping and you have to really think ahead. D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

I have one of the old Maplin solar chargers and recently noticed it has the same connector as the unit they sell in Halfords, and have bought an OBDII connector to allow it to charge via the OBD port - havent tried it yet but the charger keeps the spare Booster battery in the garage topped up through the garage window so will hopefully keep my D3 happy as it isnt being used much lately Must stop buying shiny toys....

Looking at the Halfrauds solar charger, their top one and the lead for the OBD all in it's only £49.
Don't like the company, but they do change things if there's a problem.
Does anyone know if these work from inside the car, if I prop it up to the windscreen, it should shouldn't it?
