Stop Over Recommendations |
|
Heading up to the Whitsundays this weekend, so looking for a stop off place on Saturday night north
of Brissie, we usually stop at Noosa when doing the trip, but was wondering whether anyone had any
other recommendations on the Sunshine coast that is not to far from the Bruce Highway
Cheers another Pommie from the darkside

Forest Glen Big 4 caravan park is a nice spot just off highway, good spot to stay if wanting to get back on road quick in the morning. just far enough not to get too much noise.

This place is on the old Bruce Highway ( now called Connection Road ) which runs through
Nambour and then joins back on the Bypass ( New Bruce Highway ) . No more distance , and
it's no longer a truck/transit road . There is one speed camera though , but well signed .

I was thinking of the cabins and Villa,s as they have plenty of them.
Even when I do not have the van prefer the atmosphere of good caravan parks, and plenty of area's to stroll around after driving all day.

Only a week , and you were going to drive ! I gave up driving more than a couple of
hours to anywhere , years ago. We even fly Brisbane to Gladstone .
We flew to Melbourne for the week before you first posted this thread. I've driven it
a few times in the late eighties early nineties , but it's boring tbh. Funny thing is , after
enjoying a hot , dry week in Melbourne ( Victorians do a nice dry summer ) we return
to the wet season Mark II . It's only just stopped raining last night. One thing I've
learnt in 26 years of being here is that there is no such thing as a average year's weather
pattern in Australia . Global warming , my ! There's a fire or flood somewhere , every year.

originally we were going to be 2 weeks Neil, but the wife's company were
none to happy due to upcoming conferences to be arranged and with the
prospect of North East NSW and South East QLD being unindated with the rain,
we decided to cut a week another Pommie from the darkside
