Stretch Panels

I've been having a few... challenges with my local dealer recently with them seemingly unable to dismantle and reassemble interior trim panels without them becoming loose and rattley.

I'm told the reason for this is that the plastic the C and D pillar trims are made of stretches over time, which is why they become loose and rattle.

Sounds like nonsense to me, especially on a three year-old car, but has anyone else got stretchy trim panels in the boot?

"over time" would suggest 10 years plus - not your 3 years - and even then it sounds unlikely.

My D4 was nearly 9 when we parted company with never a rattle from C & D pillar trims (lots of rattles elsewhere mind), so total crap from the dealer.

Had the same with mine, the locating lugs had been broke off when they removed them so only the clips were holding them in position.
They renewed all the panels.

reason for that might be poor assembly and possibly damaged clips or clip attachements on panels

try taking them off and check

i noticed so much stuff either loose or never propeorly tightened on present bus I could not believe all nice and quiet now after some elbo grease and few hours spent on it

Funny you should say that, I got a second opinion from a different franchised dealer and I know the reason the panels are loose.

My suggestion that they take the panel off to have a look was greeted with a "we're too busy to do that" response; which is odd when you're that dealer's customer yet another branch of the same group took the time to have a proper look for a non-customer.

But I'll let you all make up your own mind from this short video:
