Strong Judder Under Braking

If I brake lightly from about 55mph I get a very strong judder and the steering wheel moves quite violently.

I'm guessing this is probably warped disc(s)?

They'd been on for about 12 months / 25,000 miles when this started.

Do I just need to get new discs and pads fitted again?

Car as per my signature - 2012MY.

Thanks

...and, if that is the case, will Advanced Factors' KIT209 DISCOVERY 4 3.0 FRONT DISC & PAD KIT - TRW BRAND do the trick?

Someone suggested I need to check whether I have the TRW braking system or Lucas? How do I tell?

Thanks

Thanks.

I did have a look earlier, but nothing obvious. I'll try again.

OK - still can't see anything on the caliper. On one pad I can see what looks like the start of a brand... a capital 'T' and a small 'i' in a fairly blocky / stencil font, with a gap between the top of the 'T' and the stem.

Not sure this helps!!

There are a lot of D4s getting warped discs. I think there is an issue with OEM discs.

judder

hi all not sure if I am on the right post but I have a severe judder from time to time and thought it was the gearbox or torque converter that many others have talked about, but in my case not sure it is, I was driving at about 60 mph on good surface dual carriageway when very harsh judderring started as this has happened before I pushed the accelerator no difference tried to change down using the command shift no affect on judder, into neutral no change braked fairly hard and judder got worse slowed to about 40 mph still bad judder like running over rumble strips and then as quick as it started it smoothed out and I continued with no more problems. this has happened a couple of times and can be after a short distance 20 to 30 miles or maybe once after 120 miles. I am very confused and can't nail this down to any particular area of the car any ideas as this doesn't seem to fit with gearbox issues or brake issues and why only intermittently
any ideas
