Stuck for the first time
So I thought it'd be a good idea to reverse the caravan onto pitch this afternoon. Onto grass, into reverse and nothing, it just dug in. The father in law took great pleasure in pulling me out in his Kuga.
.
Didn't want to give it too much welly as I didn't want to ruin the wardens grass.Cheers Scott.
Grass and soft ground is the death of many a Disco - just too much weight!Mark.

It is embarrassing when it happens, more welly would have just meant deeper ruts and still stuck. So you did the right thing.David

wet grass is evil, where the freelanders use to come into their own.
Did you try dsc off, grass gravel on see with a bit go juice...then out with the traction mats - caravanner's eh - you would get a motorhome out of that Mike

Stuck pah!! This is properly stuck. 2 D3s couldn't winch me out from the front, ISTR it took two behind being anchored by two more. Well stuck.
First thing to do if stuck on wet grass is the same as soft sand, drop the tyre pressures to 10-12psi all round then drive out with as little wellie as possible. Done it several times now and not only in Discos. Oh, one thing, make sure you have a compressor to re-inflate the tyres once on hard ground. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

ISTR your approach to soft sand was fly above it.

The problem is people get awfully upset if you chew their grass up. I should have realised it was very wet along the ditch edge and was stuck almost straight away. There was no point playing with it when I could use the Fl2 to recover me from hard ground.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
