Subwoofer

I was playing with the audio system the other day in my disco 4 XS, I was bored! I noticed the subwoofer volume does not do anything no louder no quieter where ever I set it. Should this do anything? where is the subwoofer? I have always thought the sound system is not as good as my disco 3. Any ideas? Rolling Eyes

On the D3 the Woofer is in the Lower part of the back door................Normally mine in the D3 is quiet until I put a thumping CD on, which normally kicks it off.

Difficult to get it to work well with just a radio

the subwoofer is in the tailgate...

open the boot, lower the tailgate and sit on the left hand side (passenger side) - your Censored will vibrate when the volume is turned up Thumbs Up

maybe it is my choice of music! I will steal one of the kids rave, rap, dance rubbish CDs Laughing and give it a go. I will have a look in the back for the subwoofer got the feeling its just not working but my music tends to be quite relaxed so bit of a mission for Monday morning.

Bear in mind that anything MP3 or other compressed formats don't contain any information below 50Hz which is the range where a sub would be working.

If you can get a copy of the Lady Ga Ga Cd that's really well recorded and contains loads of deep down sounds.

Not necessarily so. Depends on how and how much they are compressed. I record mine 'lossless' so they sound good, just take up more space. MY HPF is set to 50htz so I know the bass is there.

The Sub woofer in the rear I think has its HPF fiter set at an even lower frquency. IT is enclosed so will only produce very low frequencies and won't move air like most subs.
