yawlboy, I assume you were putting in the space in the middle of the postcode - some satnavs can be fussy when it comes to this.

If your Garmin has the back road coverage in Ireland, then it has the latest Garmin maps, which are from Navteq. I've had no problems using the LR satnav, which uses the same mapping data, to find Pem*****e from Andrews postcode, and a nearby B&B from its postcode (full length codes).
 IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!
