| Suggestions for replacing Scorpion ATR |
|
I am finding it difficult to replace the scorpion ATR’s on my 18” rims on a D4 here in Pembrokeshire.
Does anyone have suggestions for a recommended alternative ?

if it were me I'd be torn between the following in 255-60-18:
Pirelli Scorpion AT+
Continental Conti Cross Contact ATR
Michelin Latitude Cross
I don't think you'd be disappointed with any of the above.  2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

The Scorpion AT+ is not showing as an 18inch option on Pirelli's UK website, so I'd ignore that entirely even if you can find a set currently - there's no guarantee that they will be readily available in future should you need a replacement tyre.
As for a replacement, what do want from the tyre? Mostly road work with occasional off road, no off road at all, something else?
I recently fitted the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure (silly name) to my RRS in 255/55/19. So far I've been impressed with them. Very good on road, even up to a bit of spirited driving when the fancy takes me, are the standard fit for the new Defender so likely ok off road (although I doubt they're as tough as the Pirelli ATR or the AT+). Not winter rated in Land Rover sizes but they are in other sizes, strangely, but then the ATR isn't winter rated either so no difference there.
Otherwise, the Grabber AT3 is a decent all rounder with winter rating.
Other options that have been spoken about in good terms include the Avon AX7, the Cooper DISCOVERER® AT3 SPORT 2 (another silly name), or the Michelin CrossClimate SUV if you want a pure road tyre with decent winter capability. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
