Whilst fitting side steps to the Disco a couple of weekends back, I managed to get a flat battery and noticed the sunroof had stopped working since getting mobile again Shocked

How happy was I when I read this and managed to sort it without a trip to the stealers Thumbs Up

Many thanks for the post Bow down

PS I hadn't (& still haven't) read the manual either Rolling with laughter

Thank you, it worked

Had a senior moment this morning and pressed the sunroof button instead of the centre roof light button. Sunroof whirred for a fraction of a second and stopped. Stuck with ice I hoped. Got back this afternoon after a trans-pennine jaunt, still no luck. Checked Fuse 20 behind glove compartment with no joy. Searched forum and found reset/recalibration routine at front of this thread. Worked a treat to my relief, thank you.

No dirt, no ice, no warning mine would stop working. Fuse ok, 20second calibration and bingo, all back to normal thanks to this very helpful post (and yes I moved my manual out the way to check the fuse!)

Yet another happy forum user here and thumbs up for such a simple fix.

Whilst it was dry yesterday, I went out checked the fuse and relay and all ok so I started thinking that the motor had burnt out, came on the forum today did a search, found this thread, went outside today, followed the instructions and my sunroof now opens and close again.

The reset didn't work for me so I pulled the switch off the roof and found that the connection to the switch had been disconnected.
I connected it back up and ran the 20 second test, all that happened was the sunroof shunted up a little and then closed straight away.
Just in case it was disconnected for a reason I left it as I found it.
Does this seem like a motor issue? Is it possible for the blind to interfere with the operation?
Cheers

Relays loose

I had no joy with the reset so I went back to the fuse board, behind the glove box for some “hand & eye checks”.
I already had fuse 20 out, checked and refitted so was happy this was not to blame.
Whilst touching/pushing/wiggling the relays, I found the 2 relays on the bottom right of the fuse board were both equally loose (they were not fully pushed home in the board). I pushed them both fully home (required approx 4mm of travel) and the sunroof works perfectly again.
I guess that these relays have vibrated out of the board by a few millimetres over many years and miles.
A quick and cost-free fault rectification with the support and guidance of this thread.
Winner!

Cheers,
Ken

Sunroof doesn’t work.

[quote="DG"]Don't know if this will help Confused

It is possible to override the anti-trap

holding the front of the switch whilst the roof

Sunroof calibration

Under some circumstances (i.e. if the battery is
disconnected), the sunroof position may need
to be recalibrated. The sunroof position is
recalibrated as follows:

1. With the battery connected, turn the starter
switch to position ll.

2. Press and hold the front of the switch for
20 seconds. The sunroof will start to
move.

Continue to hold the switch until the
sunroof completes one full open and
closing cycle. When the sunroof stops
moving, release the switch.

The sunroof can then be operated as normal.
Note: Calibration will not function if the battery
voltage is low.[]

Thank you very much. I’m about to buy a new console till I read your advice. And boy it works. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Thank you!

Thank you for much for this tip!

My alternator failed and then my sunroof stopped working.
Nearly booked in for diag until I found this. You’ve saved me money! 💪🏽 🙂

You beauty. I have had a nightmare with my alternator and belt which was caused by someone installing the wrong air conditioning pump. After a huge bill for all my works. Got my car back and the sunroof wasn't working. Followed this process and hey presto working again. Thanks a lot
