Surround cameras not available

Occasionally when I start my D4 a couple of the camera views come up with a blue screen saying camera not available with a red x - If I stop and then restart they are all working again.

Anyone else had this problem and if so what was the fix?

Yes and no fix as such. Been into dealers and had a number of things done, cameras OK for a while and then start to play up again.

Thanks Russell, I'll mention it to my dealer next time I visit and see what they say.

So far it's always the same cameras that have the fault, drivers side front and the rear.

Had the very same intermittent fault for the last 6 mths. Rear camera and the front os blue screen. A restart after letting the car "sleep" has never failed to fix it.

I'm thinking it must be a module or software issue . As far as i'm aware the two cameras don't share any wiring?

I've had 2 cameras replaced recently - front o/s and rear. The front one just stopped working (blue screen) and the rear has always had moisture in it, so I made them change it. Not had any problems since.

I do find that if they're very dirty, sometimes you get the blue screen. Also, I know there was a service issue about the wiring, but I don't know the details.

Mine had two cameras and a module replaced which failed to fix the problems. Dealer then fitted an overlay wiring loom for the camera connections and that solved all issues with the camera system.

My dealers were able to reproduce the fault today and said that there was a LR software update for the problem so hopefully this will be ok now.

LR have realeased a TSB relating to camera issues .

They have published all camera wiring and time to change each wiring part .

There is also pictures of wiring being clamped too tightly or cables having too tight a bend in them

Thanks Wiggs, looks like my camera issues might not be sorted then - will have to wait and see.

Well the fix did not sort the problem and new cables had to be ordered, just got the D4 back after nearly a week - apparently a complete wiring loom had to be fitted and that meant virtually the whole passenger side of the car had to be stripped Shocked passenger front seat was removed Shocked and some of the dash. Works fine now and thankfully no squeaks have materialized Smile
