I spent a day changing my suspension bushes last friday and fitted some nice new bolts purchased from Rimmer Bros.
Today i took it in for alignment only yo be told they couldnt do it as the adjustment washers were just spinning?
On investigation the locating lugs had just stripped out of the washers like they were made of chocolate, so be warned if you buy bolts buy genuine.

Someone complaining about advanced ones here.
https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/front-lower...87-30.html
Maybe a bad batch about.
I used first line ones which were black.
Not the best quality but hopefully not as bad as yours

Those bolts from advance factors look like the same ones that i bought.
At least it only took me 20 mins to swap the bolts again, i wonder why they put adjustment washers on both sides when only one side does the work?

@Pete K
[quote]The eccentric washer on that side came as one piece with the bolt. Whatever they did, they managed to separate the two [quote]
They even managed to strip the threads, this is what you get when gorilla's do the job. I have fitted hundreds of Lower arms from AF and never had one problem.

The washer at the bolt end shouldn't rub on anything (when fitted the correct way round I believe)
so how they managed it, I don't know!
The LR torque setting is very high on these bolts. I stopped in mechanical sympathy before reaching the setting. Maybe they didn't!

Hi Pete the bolts have an eccentric cam under the bolt head and under the nut but only one side of the chassis has the lugs that the cam pushes against to adjust the settings. For some reason Land rover fit the bolts so that the cam under the nut does the adjustment not the bolt head.
In my mind you only need a cam one end of the bolt to do the adjustment the other end could just be a flat washer.

No.
If i had designed it i would have just had the cam as part of the bolt head and then used a plain washer under the nut, you then wouldnt need to complicate things by having locating grooves in the bolt.
