Suspension compressor exhaust - what's involved?

Hi all.

Been meaning for a while to fix an advisory I had on the last service, saying there was a minor leak on the air suspension compressor exhaust. Looks like it's about £50 for the inlet and exhaust pipes (combined).

Just wondering what's involved in replacing them? Does the compressor have to come off? Simple home repair or some awkward job needing a 4 post lift and special tools...?

Cheers,
Ade

How did you get the advisory? Did someone read the ECU codes that indicated that the compressor exhaust was an issue? If that’s the case, many times the error related to slow deflation/exhaust actually relates to the desiccant chamber being blocked due to desiccant breakdown.

It was picked up at the last service; they said that the exhaust had a leak but it wasn't critical as it vented to the atmosphere anyway.

The usual "Disco Fart" that the car does when adjusting height etc. does seem a bit louder than usual, so could explain it if the exhaust normally exits via a silencer...?

How is that a roadworthy issue? It is just air. Bonkers.

It was mentioned / I was advised about it during a service; it wasn't an MOT advisory. Sorry; I probably wasn't clear!

Just put a piece of rubber fuel pipe over the break and clamp at either end - easy - it is low pressure so does not need to be anything special.

What Garry said. Simple repair I'm sure unless it's broken off at a point where you can't do that such as the edge of the EAS muffler. Go and find the leak and go from there.
