Ok, Ok, I have now had a suspension fault  , I was driving to Leamington Spa, and the warning light came on and it said suspension failure.
I stopped and restarted the car, but it would not get above access mode, I rang My local dealer, who (now being 120 miles behind me) suggested I call out Landrover Assist, but being late for a meeting I carried on, which I have to say was not the most comfortable ride!!
I called LR Assist when i arrived, he turned up within 1 hour and ran the diagnostics, this proved the pump was faulty. I drove it to the local dealer in Stratford, where they took it in, in the meanwhile, LR Assist had organised a Volvo V50 (only done 52 miles!) for me on my return to use while the car was being fixed.
I left there on Tuesday pm in the Volvo, and calling LR assist they said when the car was fixed they would transport the car back to Norwich for me.
The car turned up on Thursday (working) on the back of a recovery vehicle.
I would say that apart form the pump failiing, Land Rover have dealt with this very efficiently, and it was all organised very well. Basically 5* for Land rover assist!!

I have to agree. LR assist were very good to me on new years day this year when my car had the same problem. I got a Mondeo with 5 miles on it!

 for Guy Salmon Stratford then, repairing a car that's not theirs 8)
They are my 'local' dealer at home so I know them reasonably well

I know I should read through a load more threads, but are people getting their suspension failiures totally sorted or are we looking at cars that are going to cost a fortune at the dealers when they are out of warranty?
900 miles and OK so far BUT did not seam to be going up to 6th gear on the auto box last night, keeping my fingers crossed for today

Cliff, Not had a susspension failure yet! , not to worry about 6th gear, will only go there if speed & load are right for it, that is the good thing with auto, always in the right gear. How did you know, knocked it back to command shift?. TDV6 2004 Auto Zambezi Silver Badged SE not quite an S with Nav & Rear DVD

No I was doing a well known journey.
At certain places I know that hitting approx 58mph it will go into top gear / revs drop back to around 1600.
Last night went over 60mph and revs were climbing over 2100.
PERHAPS THE POOR CAR WAS FRIGHTENED BY ALL THE FIREWORKS
Or as LR would maybe put it 'loud banging noises may have an abnormal effect on the electronic engine management system requiring 3 days of extensive re programming'

Well that seems about normal to me Cliff, I often can be running at that speed on level road & notice revs just up over 2100 & in your mind you know that 70 is about 2000 in sixth but it will not change up, guess load is not right for a higher gear & that speed is somewhere near the change, perhaps you had a head wind. Probably is in the most econimical gear though for conditions. TDV6 2004 Auto Zambezi Silver Badged SE not quite an S with Nav & Rear DVD

Don't forget that the ECU memorises your driving style/pattern and manages the gearbox accordingly. You'd be surprised the impact that this has.

Winger has hit it the head I hope!
The previous journey I had given it more 'wellie' than usual as we were late for a firework display!
Had forgotten about the gearbox / ecu driving pattern memory as I had it on my 2004 Freelander but it never seemed to make any difference what so ever.
