Suspension Failure & Trans Range Change errors. |
|
I went on holiday last week, and had two further start up errors, one was a Tansmission Range Change unavailable, the other was a whole load of of errors, which lit up just about every warning lamp on the dashboard.
The car was booked in to dealer today.
According to the dealer they have;
1. Changed the wiring loom that runs across the rear of the vehicle. This is a possible cause of the suspension errors.
2. Changed the battery and checked the alternator output. They confirmed that low battery charge at start up can cause the computers to fail.
3. Flashed the ROMs with the latest CD from Land Rover. They say that they have had loads of updates sent through for D3, they assured me that the latest one is now loaded. He would not tell me which version is now loaded, but did say they had received 13 updates so far for the D3.
I still have the SETTINGS FBH/Pre-Cool TIMER function, so any rumours of this disappearing are not true yet.
Fingers crossed. Should be OK now. I hope.

Fingers crossed for you Gareth.
Why LR/the dealers don't release the software version numbers to their customers I don't know
MINI dealers are happy for customers to know the version number of the vehicle ECU software on a car, and what fixes are in each update.
Again, I think it's part of LR's flawed customer care policy.
Then again, I might just be a touch bitter at the minute

No, there were various updates to the early build (2002) Cooper S's, because of the 'stumbling' when pulling away.
Our Cooper S is perfect too (as was the old one)
Anyway, this is rapidly going off-topic
