Thanks. I forgot to say, the job only took about 30mins. So far I’ve had no more faults so worth a try if you have the same symptoms. Will post more info when I get round to using the compressor refurb kit

Thanks in advance.

Hi

That looks like an AMK, think the writing is on that plate to the left of the picture where the black airline is

It might also help to use some soapy water around ur compressor, reservoir valve block inc that black pipe to ensure it’s not leaking

Does ur disco drop over night plse

Hi, thanks for the reply.

It is indeed the AMK compressor. No drop over night just the warning on the dash and message of normal height only. If I clear the fault it all works fine and will stay working until I start driving.

Ur very welcome

As you’ve got an iid have u looked at the live readings of what the compressors pressure is

Enclosed a chart of what they should be , u can also see how hot the compressor is getting as well

Is the AMK very old please or original as urs is a 2016

So have a look to see what pressure ur getting which gives a good indication if it’s worn out or not

Hope that helps

Hi. As far as I am aware it’s the original so only 3.5 years old.

Will take a look at the pressures. Do you know what the menu item is for it?

Hiya

It will be under live values / suspension/ gallery pressure

There’s also a full iid manual which can be printed out , if u input ur model and year in the link, scroll down to where it’s green it will show u everything the iid can do and where the sections are

https://www.gap-diagnostic.com/products/iidtool/

Full manual

https://www.gap-diagnostic.com/wordpress/w...lV3.00.pdf

Will be interesting to see what the pressure is

Hi

Those figures look ok , when you’ve gone from off road height to normal there would have been a larger volume of air in the system because the struts needed more air to raise

Then when u select normal u will hear a hiss which is it discharging the excess air it doesn’t need

Try getting the pressure readings with the suspension at normal height without lowering or raising it plse

U should then without touching anything hear the compressor stop running and a hiss

The 2 x pressure readings are , first one , with the compressor running , then the second figure is after you’ve heard the hiss which is the reserve pressure kept in the system

What’s the max length of time ur compressor runs plse , when the warning light comes on is it red or orange

Have u checked ur compressors relay, to ensure there’s no electrical burn marks

Also someone will hopefully be along to say if the temperature of the compressor is ok and what it should normally run at

Lastly do u have a multimeter plse

Plus meant to say , u can get the Live Value suspension data for

Access LED
Compressor temperature
Crawl LED
Current Calibration
Current Height
Door Status
Exhaust valve
Front cross link valve
Front left corner valve
Front left height sensor - Voltage
Front right corner valve
Front right height sensor - Voltage
Gallery pressure
Ignition State
Lower LED
Lower Sw. Long Press
Lower Switch
Motor temperature
Normal LED
Off-Road LED
Raise LED
Raise Sw. Long Press
Raise Switch
Rear cross link valve
Rear left corner valve
Rear left height sensor - Voltage
Rear right corner valve
Rear right height sensor - Voltage
Reservoir valve
Terrain mode
Vehicle Awake

So that u can see when the valve blocks open and close etc Etc

Firstly thanks for the replies.

I have just gone out. Connected to IID to start monitoring the live values for pressure, relay state, and compressor temp

Started engine (car at normal height)
Gallery pressure - 140kPa
Relay off
compressor temp 28

Compressor never started and pressure never changed over a 5-10 min period.

Yes I do have sever multimeters. Not really the weather for doing anything outside though.
Was thinking of just getting a new compressor as look dry on Wednesday so could change the then

There are several on eBay for 165 with 2year warranty. Thoughts?

Hi

Cheers , really need to establish 100% that the compressor is sound , u could remove it , put on a bench to test it first With a pressure gauge

Reason I say that is there could be an issue elsewhere and would be a shame if u bought another compressor to then find out that’s not the issue

How long does the compressor run when going from normal to off road height Plse , of course whilst monitoring it via the iid to ensure the relay, reservoir valve opens , pressure Etc

Reason I said about a multimeter is putting leads on the Input voltage to the compressor to see if voltage supply remains to the compressor or not

Just thinking of ur pocket that’s all

Personally haven’t got any experience with the ebay links, I got mine from advanced
