Suspension fault C1A27-14

Hi folks,

Apols for another suspension question. I’ve had a good read of existing threads but could someone please point me in the right direction for tracking down the culprit for the code C1A27-14 ?

I’ve got the amber warning light with ‘normal right height only’ showing on the screen.

Looks to be at correct height on the rear and slightly lower on the front, equal both sides.

Thanks in advance!

Update (if anyone was watching!)

I checked the fuses and it turns out the yellow slow burn fuse had burnt out. Replaced and whilst the error has gone, the Disco won’t raise or lower but simply says when flicking the switch: ‘Vehicle will raise when compressor temperature has cooled’ or similar.

I’m now working on the theory that the compressor is overworking due to a leak and hence popped the fuse. Any ideas on where or how to start looking for the leak, if it exists?

Cheers!

I’ve had same wording of a fault, but after first start of the day it still was showing compressor temp at 180degrees in live values even though it was cold, I fitted a new compressor and it sorted the problem

what fuse? one of the tiny ones? or J ones ?

washing up liquid and a tiny bit of water can be used to put on joints, and if it bubbles, there is an air leak.

If you go to the car on a cold morning, (weekend) and it won't raise, it's probably the temp sensor or wiring, rather than actual over heat

Cheers gents, the temp on the compressor says 24 degrees according to my IID so guess that might be at fault.

Anyone know how to change the sensor or is it a new compressor?

My guess it’s new compressor and relay time, I’ve tried repairing them in the past without success Thumbs Up

Sorry Pete, yep it’s one of the bigger slow burn fuses with the transparent top

24 isn’t really hot.
There are 2 sensors.

That’s what I thought! I’ll run the IID and see what both sensors say. Was assuming that because the sensor was saying just 24 whilst the car said it was too hot then the compressor has had it ☹️

Can only find one temp reading for the compressor and it’s now saying it’s 18 degrees. Suspension Fault has come back and is now C1A20-64 ‘air reservoir filling too slowly’. Does this still point towards the compressor being knackered?

Thanks Sea Raider, I’m struggling because the compressor isn’t even switching on in the first place (presumably because of the fault) so I can’t start to test for leaks! So am unsure if the compressor has had it or if there’s a leak somewhere which could have caused its demise!

what code reader are you using ?

you can bridge the relay contacts under the bonnet (as long at you get the right ones)
Check the fuse hasn't blown again.

or remove the compressor (which is a good idea if its going to have to be replaced anyway, to free up the joints/bolts) and connect to a battery
and inspect temp sensor wires

Hi Pete, am using my IID bt reader. Only shows ‘compressor’ temp for me☹️

I think you’re right about getting the unit out and testing, have soaked the bolts in readiness for when I get a day off!

Thanks for all your help.
