Suspension Fault - theres a surprise - normal height only

Hi
I have the orange warning light and normal height only warning.

I've attached screenshots of the codes and message.

My guess is rear valve block? Whats the thoughts?

Thanks

Clear the codes

and see if exhaust or rear block comes back first.
Then keep diving and reading code. See if the 2nd comes back too

Thanks
yes I've cleared the codes a few times and it comes back to these.

I did get a mention of a brake / switch earlier but this hasn't returned.

Faulty brake switch can cause all sorts of problems.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Well the compressor or wiring needs looking at for exhaust valve.
And wiring for the rear block too.

Thanks

I've been trying to trace the fault with little success.

According to the reader all code items are working.
Height sensor have the same voltage and return height values within a few millimeters of each.
The Exhaust valve operates and the crossover valve has voltage.

When I first move the car within 20 meters the fault appears, if I turn it off take the key out and move again the fault may not appear for the rest of the day.

If I operate the switch to either raise or lower I immediately get the fault, I can hear the compressor operate. When I do this without moving the Exhaust valve error doesn't appear.

So does this leave a height senor or rear crossover valve the problem.

If its a height sensor how do I determine which one?

Any suggestion appreciated.

England

Having just gone through this process it turned out to be a damaged +5v feed about 4" from the Right Hand Rear Height Sensor.

First indication was the 4x4 display going heywire, which led me to purchase a new sensor. I broke the plastic connector trying to remove it so had to cut it of near the connector. As i was about to splice in a new connector, the +5V wire came away from main loom, and it turned out that it was the plastic conduit that seems to have damaged the wire.

So once i repaired that, I then used the IID tool to confirm i was getting a voltage in live values (Right Hand Read Voltage) which should fluctuate if you look at the graph view

From here, i then used all 4 x height sensors looking at the live values and moving from Extended/Normal/Lower height where you can watch the graphs. One thing i initially got wrong was reverse polarity and was chasing why it kept going into extended mode when trying to lower...and the graph view was brilliant at spotting what was an obvious mistake on my part.

So long story short, IID GAP tool was brilliant for monitoring all 4 corners and live values will really show you whats going on (such as missing data signal or spurious spikes during movement of the sensor)

As to tracing from Sensor connector to ECU, i managed to avoid this, but identifying the connector in the near side wheel arch and how to actually unplug the connector was something i couldnt figure out easily....and didnt want to attempt to split the connector in case i broke it in order to perform a continuity check....the ECU is located right up under the dash near the instrument panel...i didnt go that far but of course it may be easier to start there for continuity check if you need to

I'd say your biggest problem is the rear air valve block .
It is 3 valves in 1 unit.
2 wires each
left, right and cross over.

the code says it is right side.

I guess once the car is level after the first start, it doesn't try and use it again

The valve block is in the left

Thanks, the valve block was my first thought.
I should get a chance to check out wires and block this weekend.

Hi
Just and update.

I got a 4x4 seals kit for the compressor and solenoid, fitted kit and exhaust valve fault gone.

After trying to raise and lower car, right rear still hand fault.

Went to the valve block cleaned it and saw some green oxidation on a wire, reached for it and it broke about 5mm out from block.

I have it soldered, not happy with the repair but everything working again.

I think I try and source a second hand wiring block, cut the wires as far back as I can and solder and shrink wrap in place.

Thanks for the help.
