Suspension height

When I raise my car from low position height to normal height the height of the car is different from when I lower the car from full height to normal height.

Does anyone have the figures what height the car should be when in normal height and when in full height?

I understand one takes a measurement from the centre of the wheel arch to the ground ? Or is it to the centre of the wheel ?

Have the car on flat ground as it makes measuring the vertical distance from center of wheel to bottom edge of wheel archer easier (spirit level). Distance at front should be about 465mm and about 485mm st rear. As you move suspension up and down it may settle at slightly different heights. But still about the same.

That seems too low. The values I posted are for normal height. Actually the front should be 466mm but I never got the heights perfect. Could you post a picture as it would look quite odd 6 inches lower.

I thought the D3 and D4 had different center of wheel to arch heights.

Sorry people I did not get back to you on this topic.

While my car was with the dealers they gave me a brand new Disco 4 MY16 to drive around in and I took the opportunity to measure suspension ride height.

So measuring each from centre of the wheel hub to the centre of the wheel arch making sure the vertical measurement is at 90 degree angle.

All reading in inches "

Land Rover MY16 Suspension Height Readings

..............................Front Left....Front Right.....Rear Left.....Rear Right

Normal Height..........18.75..........18.75.............19.50.........19.75

MY Land Rover MY13 Suspension Height Readings

..............................Front Left....Front Right.....Rear Left.....Rear Right

Normal Height..........18.25..........18.25.............19.25.........19.75

As you can see the readings are different so to make sure I went to my local independent Landrover service center and he had a Disco 4 MY 14 and I took measurements on his car and the reading matched with the MY16 car. The following is the setting we made to me car:

The chap at this local Landrover center calibrated the suspension in line with the MY16 reading.

My Land Rover MY13 NEW Suspension Height Settings

..............................Front Left....Front Right.....Rear Left.....Rear Right

Normal Height..........18.75..........18.75.............19.75.........19.75

and WOW!!! my car ride is very smooth and going over pot holes and rough road is a bliss now as I no longer get that rough ride.

MY problem has been resolved.
