Mine has just started showing the amber light and Normal Height Only warning. Seems to reset after turning the car off for a while.
This started happening on one of our unusually hot days!
I had the car jacked at all four corners whilst in off road mode about 100 miles ago to get new tyres fitted but that was from a well regarded supplier and forum member so I doubt there were any problems relating to jacking points etc.
Booking into main dealer for annual service anyway, so I expect them to mis-diagnose the problem a few times before the error goes away.

Success story here. Before I joined here I had searched the forum for the fix for the normal height only error. Most likely the air dryer, so I bought one, fitted it, and no more error. I'm probably going to replace my compressor soon as well but this was a cheap and easy fix to get a while longer out of it. And plus I now know with some certainty that this is what it was.

Hey guys, so I have a problem but the computer doesn't give any error: when taking my disco 3 off road on a rather simple trail (one that a 2wd mitsubishi endeavor clears with no problem whatsoever) I heard a LOUD hissing sound coming from the left front, when arriving to my ranch the front end was super low (picture attached) and the notification centre kept flashing a "suspension will raise when system cooled" and "reset suspension height if clear of obstacle" yet there is not one single suspension fault message and the screen marks everything alright (doesn't flash red)

Anyways I drove back to the city with that ridiculously low height embarrassing myself as my copilot drives a g-class (the trail is about 3 hours long so I had to stand him bragging that the merc wouldn't have that stupid problem and making jokes about the disco 3) and my recently purchased landy was smashing against the floor all the time, it was an absolute torture!
So how do I reset it or whats up with it? should I take it to the dealership yet again?!
can I fix this myself?
I am an undergraduate student so spending 400-600 quid on my car really hurts me, any advice is helpful!

Apparently the compressor wasn't producing enough pressure so it could have been the air dryer leaking?
Anyway it was covered by Warranty Direct.

EAS Amber Light - Stuck in Normal Height Only
I see this is a topic that affects us all at some point. My Disco3 has only done 49,000 miles but at 9 years old (Mar 05 plate) I suppose its more the age than the mileage.
The last 4 or 5 times I've driven the car I've had this light flick on, and can see that the easy path is a new compressor, but at £604 I've been quoted for the part and 2 hours to fit (and I assume some sort of diagnosis fee also), I'm wondering what success others have had with refurbing using any of the packages retailing for around 30 or 40 quid on ebay ?
My usual servicing person told me an 05 plate car has already had a modified unit and that as such I probbaly haven't got the original hitachi one but the akw but i'm not so sure.
I've looked at a YouTube video to take it off and quite frankly it looks a 'so and so' even on a ramp so i'm not sure i fancy doing this myself on a jack and then finding I can't get it back on and therefore have a totally immobilised vehicle.
Any recent experiences from the experts out there would be most welcome.
I'll complete the online suspension survey when I get home as I don't have the Vin Plate to hand at the office.
Any thoughts ?

Dealer replaced compressor. Parts were 70% covered and labour 100% covered by Warranty Direct policy so its not been as painful as it could have been.

My disco is going up straight away at the back and the front is so slow it comes up with the message suspension risings slowly can anyone tell me what is causing this .

It is designed to raise the rear first to avoid the headlight dazzle. Raising slowly can be a number of things but the most common include a blocked/clogged dryer, air leaks or (at the expensive end) a failing compressor.
Worth getting fault codes read too.

Hi Guys,
I wanted to consult with you my suspension fault.
Since a few days, I get a suspension fault on the dash with amber light.
It happens only when I stop the car e.g. traffic jam, junction - the car goes up for about 1 cm, then gets back to normal position, and then the suspension fault appears for about 15 - 20 sec.
It happens from time to time with no other symptoms.
What would you recommend as the first step in diagnosing ?
Ordering one of the software tools ?

A tool would help but I have seen similar symptoms with a damaged height sensor wire, so worth having a good look at them.

our suspension fault message came up on the dial and there is also a 'transmission fault' message

It's always worth checking the battery and alternator, but, in your case, I would most suspect a brake bulb or switch.

Regarding suspension heights
If the car is on a slightly sloped drive with the car off
Is is normal for the car to sit slightly to one side?
eg
front left floor/ground to wheel arch 78cm
front right floor/ground to wheel arch 79cm
rear left floor/ground to wheel arch 81cm
rear right floor/ground to wheel arch 82cm
NB left side of car was on the side of the drive sloping slightly downwards, and the car was off.
I had the 4 wheel alignment done last week in Tight Tolerance Mode
Did anything need doing to the height sensors at the same time? - or is this normal
