Always remove unused aftermarket wiring. Latent wiring is a frequent source of pain and misery!

My wife has a garage door opener fitted on her Mercedes, but it will jam a Police radar gun if it is left on after she has used it for its correct purpose.

It is not an offence to have one fitted but it is an offence to use it for the purpose of jamming a radar gun.

If the one fitted to your car has no garage door to open then take it off. If it does inadvertently get switched on and jams a radar and you get stopped they will check your garage, believe me. The offence I believe is 'Perverting the course of justice'
