No problem - it can carry all of the entire worldwide stock of Tesco in it's holds! It carries 14500 x 20ft containers all at one go!

Just before Christmas my own ship (a mere 4750 x 20ft units and which was the biggest containership in the world back in 1994!) had a full cargo of 4600 x20ft containers solely for Walmart from China to the USA, and the 7 other sister ships on the service also had full cargoes of Chinese tat for Walmart.

Oh and at 400m long 56m wide and 66m from keel to masthead you have no problem barging in on roundabouts, makes you into a bit of a BMW driver really!

MINIMUM wading depth.................................. 15m
Can be a small problem at times, but nothing is better when the roads are flooded! Laughing Fuel consumption is a minor problem too at 200 tonnes a day at economical speed of 25mph!

Well...

I have had some comments on the D3 driver as being in danger as the car could have got washed away being waterproof whereas a proper land rover such as a Defender would have fared better as the water coming in (The car not being waterproof...) would have "anchored" the vehicle to the bottom...

No matter what you tell some people, they will still be anchored in their ways...

You do what you want in your car and I will do what I want in my car.
BTW it is a proper Land Rover and some!

I know and fully agree... Also with Gareth, by the way...

It is only that sometimes I am getting fed up of those "Defenders Taliban"... Rolling Eyes Many of them still see the D3 as an up-scale SUV only good for climbing on sidewalks no matter what you show them can be done with one... Confused Sad

I am quite sure that this D3 that I own is among the best... And that it IS a Land Rover... Smile I don't have a problem with you did and what you will be doing ! 8) Wink I'll probably even enjoy watching it done ! Laughing

I have two Defender 110s and a D3 We chose to attempt this crossing in the D3 as it was heavier, we could have used a Defender but due to the fast flowing water we were concerned that the Defender would float away before it had chance to fill up.

As far as the 'Defender Taliban' are concerned F*ck em let them think what they like Wink

Look forward to posting our next excursion for your viewing Thumbs Up
