Swinging weights at rear/ rear reflector change |
|
Can anyone tell me what the two swinging weights just forward of the rear bumper are for. When I swing them by hand they seem to catch on the plastic of the bumper, is this right ?.
I only noticed them when trying to find out how you replace a rear reflector which got broken when I nice Tesco customer backed into me then drove off !.
Any ideas how to change it would also be appreciated.

these are your suspension dampers - apparently critical to a smooth ride.
If they are fouling on the bumper that is bad - they should swing freely. Maybe the bumper has been pushed in. Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond
Sadly Gone : MY08 D3 TDV6 HSE : Stornoway + Alpaca + Privacy + BAS Remap

Harmonic dampers ...to stop vibration etc. Sounds like your bumper has moved slightly during your Tesco moment The reflectors just pop in ISTR 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
