Brian,

Took my Mini to Belfast yesterday and was nearly a big mistake could have been doing with the "snowplough" on parts of the Glenshane Shocked

We have two specialists here that I know of, Jamison's LS near Coleraine and BLRC in Saintfield Co.Down and then theirs Trillick LR Centre which are good for parts and advice, but the guys on here are top notch Thumbs Up

If your ever in this neck of the woods I'll make the effort to get those 22's of yours covered in mud Laughing

Brian, I'm not an expert on these (yet - mine have still to fail) but from what I can gather there is a difference between pre and post 07 vehicles.

Pre O7 can be blanked off with little problem. Post 07 will give a permanent fail light if blanked and eventually shut down to limp-home mode. I suspect the light warning is only post 07 as well.

Hi mate,

I had the same issue around Xmas time, I opted to blank mine off with the blanking kit from Bellautos. The kit cost me around £50 inc P&P. I'm not a mechanic by a long way but managed to do this job in 3 hours after downloading the PDF instructions from Bellautos website.

Result being, job done - dont need to worry about them going again in the future ie post warranty, and I am convinced I have better fuel consumption without them. Also, I feel the car performs better and has better acceleration.

Hope this helps.

StephenO Thumbs Up

EGR REPLACEMENT

I just replaced my egr valves both sides Disco 3 2007. I got cheap non Landrover valves cost £40 each side. Took a little time but you can then clean the old ones at you leisure and replace when needed. Did need to delete error code on management light but seems fine. Power all back but as I say I’m not expecting a long life with them, cheap fix if you have the tools. I invested in a good diagnostic years ago so can do all that stuff myself.
