system failures

hi, driving down the M1 yesterday, middle lane, 75mph. the info screen said, hill descent failed. then, no special programs, then vehicle will lower, which it did. next came engine failed, which it duly did ! i managed to make it to the hard shoulder, but the car wouldn't restart. 15 mins later, just before LR assist turned up, it started and everything worked as normal. it was fine for the rest of the day, but today after another 100 mile journey, it now goes through the same routine at every junction or traffic light. i'm taking it to the stealer tomorrow but wondered if anyone had suffered the same kind of fault ? cheers.

Check your battery connections are not loose......other notables are wheel \ ride height sensor perhaps or if the engine cut out it could even be a camshaft sensor Confused

It should have stored the error code ...take it to the dealer for them to diagnose as you won't want a cut out again in a hurry Thumbs Up

picking car up first thing tomorrow. apparently it was due to excessive carbon build up on the mass air flow meter ? not quite sure how it affected all the things it did, or how it got to be excessively carboned up after 2 years and less than 30,000 miles. i'll be asking tomorrow though. . .

Hmmm.... whats that smell Confused Rolling Eyes

The first batch of symptons used to happen on mine. It would get as far as lowering the suspension, but not shut the engine down.

Never found out exactly what was done to cure it, but eventually they did, with no recurrence for about the last 6 months
