Hi
That’s a good point, wired it as per tmax wiring diagram
I have taken a feed off the aux battery that runs to an aux fuse box I installed , goes from the positive to a relay , has a ign trigger switched live wire so the aux fuse box becomes live only when the ign is turned on
Will do some more digging ref the solonoid and if it’s sticking
I did press the link button via the controller a few times and heard it click on and off but indeed that doesn’t prove that voltage isn’t going across, do have a spare solenoid but will test it properly with a multimeter
Maybe over time as the main battery drops Vdc I assume the solenoid should then seperate itself from the main battery and switch over to the aux battery
Will indeed update thread when I test the positives , which I assume the easiest way would be to disconnect the pos lead off the aux battery and see then if I get a reading from the main battery where the aux pos battery lead should be ,
Plus don’t know how long the fuse has been blown because I didn’t notice it until I fitted the dual Vdc gauges along with the battery monitors

Plus I didn’t realise the T max uses 5Ma in sleep state

as you say you have a 150mA drain which is alot.
how many connections do you have to main battery +
1. thick engine wire for engine (starter/alt)
2. main fuse box
3. aux battery feed?
You need to clamp each in turn and see where most of the 150mA is going

Perfect thks Pete
Indeed have those 3 x pos connections and I wouldn’t have thought of that by testing them separately
At least I gained a lot of knowledge from ur goodself last time
Also something I didn’t do was put a clamp on the small battery monitors , have one on aux and main

Also think about the things you fitted since the drain was fixed.
Power panels
Voltage displays.

Cheers Pete as funny enough I was thinking about that
Is wired via a relay from the aux battery and has an ign trigger wire so the aux fuse box and panel switch turn off when the ign is turned off , but indeed will check all of that
Just driving me nuts but will never give up and once this is sorted out will then sort out fitting a 100w solar panel on the roof, so then won’t have to worry so much of the batteries going flat when I’m away for a few weeks

Also as a side note have been taking daily Vdc readings
Vdc
8/1 Main 13.04 Aux 12.50
9/1 Main 13.03 Aux 12.99
10/1 Main 12.88 Aux 12.90
11/1 Main 12.76 Aux 12.87
12/1 Main 12.69 Aux 12.86
13/1 Main 12.59 Aux 12.82
14/1 Main 12.53 Aux 12.81
So main battery according to the app is now at 88% , had to order a new meter as my current clamp meter won’t zero
I think the split charge solenoid is stuck open and possibly taking voltage out the larger main battery because of the aux readings but won’t know 100% till I get a new meter
Will disconnect the split charge for now and plug the ctek back in so the main battery doesn’t drop any lower
Might even do away with the split charge and fit a 100w solar panel with a MPPT controller directly to the main battery

So new meter has turned up
Just need a dry day , so can start testing the system

This was my line of questioning and my current (pardon the pun) working assumption. Should be easy enough to test for continuity if you isolate the earth on the aux battery as suggested.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Hi james
Indeed think ur right as I know u mentioned that in ur previous post
At least I can now test the system properly , if the solenoid is faulty I will be very tempted to fit a dual battery solar controller and remove the solenoid
Thks again

where did you get your clamp tester from please?!
to any of the D4 split charge guys commenting on here - what batteries are you using?
I had a optima yellow top in the D3 as the aux battery and it failed and wouldn't hold charge, thanks formerly Disco3Ben

Hiya
Got it from Germany via ebay , however I can’t find it on there any more , so don’t know if it’s been discontinued or out of stock
Will keep trying to find it for u, model details are Trotec BE44
Have used it quite a bit and must say it’s worked very well, also compared it with my fluke that is calibrated
Sorry that’s not much help
