Which LEDs from Autobarn?
I am aware of the LEDs from the UK but why get those if someone local can supply, eh?
Pbhawkins,
I don't remember the brand. It just said "Packed for Autobarn" or something like that. Just call your local store to find out if they selll LED replacements to suit the standard brake/parking wattage globes.

OK, so after reading this thread I went out and checked my brake lights. Sure enough the left hand side was blown. So down to Autobarn today and took advantage of the 20% off sale and bought 4 LED replacements for around $14.00 each.
I took off the lens - very easy after reading above - removed the burnt out bulk and replaced it with an LED. Then using a length of timber to hold the brake pedal down I turned on the ignition and parking lights to have a look at how the LED was working. Have to say I was disappointed!
The standard bulb lights up the whole reflector whereas the LED doesn't. Hmmm, have I got the wrong type of LED bulb?
Anyway, for the moment, I've just popped down to the local servo, picked up a replacement standard bulb for $1.40 and installed it in place of the LED.
Any comments appreciated.

you need to get the type with leds pointing sideways as well as the main cluster pointing up the way (looking at the bulb with the connector facing the ground)
That way, it lights up the reflector too
I just installed ultraleds....brilliant they are too and the reason was not for economy or bling, just I hate having to take the mucky lightguards off, lenses out and install the incandescent bulbs, hopefully the leds will be fit and forget!....they also light up faster...instant on and off! 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

Very simple task, which took me all of 10 minutes to complete, two screws just inside the tailgate, easy the lights assembly cluster out and access the bulb from the rear.
Even I could do it!!!!
