I have just done the same thing. I am wondering about one of these protective (?) polish finishs. Supaguard, Zymol or something similar. Quoted £350 (Supaguard) by selling dealer but £160 (Zymol) by local body shop. Any views? Thanks
In my humble opinion I think they are just another "Value added service" the dealer tries to push to clear more profit thats all.
I've found that LR paint tends to come back up impressively well with a polish even with a bit of bramble rash. Say you give it a couple of good deep polishes in the time you own the vehicle then its still not cost you what you would have spent in the first place.
Did that make sense? No? Me neither.
In summary, i'm not a fan.If you aren't living life on the edge, you're taking up too much space!!

To be honest I wouldn't bother with the supaguard or whatever treatments a dealer offers, they are just an over priced money maker for the dealership IMHO.Cheers Ian

I have been delighted with the finish on the new D4 I purchased on 1 October but only because I had some minor defects corrected by an independent detailer who worked on the car in the showroom before I picked it up. The dealer sorted a stone chip which he spotted on a rear door and he polished out some minor scratches in various places.
To finish he applied Gtechniq C1 which is a lacquer applied to the paint and carries a five year warranty - water sheets off the paint now when it is rinsed and the beading when it rains is fantastic. That cost £100 on top of the price for the polishing - a bargain in my view and way better value than the supaguard etc treatments which the dealer applies and makes a huge mark up on. You'd be better applying a couple of coats of your wax of choice.
