Thanks everyone - glad you have enjoyed a glimpse at what we got up to.
As for the Uists, as remote as they are, it's thanks to coming here in 2010 that I found out about this forum. My first D4 was on order at the time, and I saw a Disco3.co.uk sticker on the back of a car belonging to forum member bootleg
I then spent most of the holiday reading up about the car I was waiting to take delivery of.
As for bootleg, I used to always spot his D3 outside his shop which is just down the road from where we have a house on North Uist - but I see he hasn't been active on here since 2012, and there's been a Land Cruiser parked where his D3 used to be, so perhaps he has since turned to the dark side. Either way, shows the stickers work. And I've actually just ordered one for the new car. Not had one before.
Anyway, I'll certainly put that picture in for the 2016 calendar when the time comes (thank you for the suggestion). And if anyone does end up holidaying here and wants some ideas of the best spots, just PM me - happy to help.
Cheers! 747_JK

Great write up and great pictures
Thats the sort of remote holiday I like, although I'm not so sure I'd have the cahonies to drive my brand new D4 through the sea
It's great to see it being used for exactly what it was intended for though.
Oh and that Highlander was massive I'd have loved to see him standing!

Nice pics and nice to see a black car.
I am just waiting delivery of a new car too. Also have/had a 2010 HSE that i was worried was going to get some big bills so with the end of the line for the D4 on the horizon a good deal was done. I'm interested to hear your opinion on the differences between 2010 and 2016.
Also love the pics, shame you didn't go a wee bit further North. I live in the Isle of Lewis and think it's even more beautiful.

What fantastic photos. Thanks so much for sharing. At some point we plan to do a similar trip as the Mrs has never been to that stunning part of the world.

I am off to Harris in early July, via Ullapool going and Uig on the way back. Hopefully it won't be horizontal rain.
