Tank cleaning

I have been the victim of the diesel bacteria ( liftpump filter clogged, pump almost dead). How do I clean the tank before fitting a new pump module?

Remove and wash it out thoroughly, The gauze can be cleaned by using different methods of detergent soaking, brake cleaner, compressed air. You can put an anti algae additive in the tank to kill off any remaining bacteria, and use it periodically. You may want to consider changing your fuel supplier.

There are some pics of a before and after gauze clean in my gallery. Thumbs Up

After cleaning treat diesel with a biocide, Marine 16 is good.

I drained my tank right out with a suction pump and the used a gallon of clean diesel to clean it out.
There is another sender unit at the front that would be very difficult to replace. So i wouldnt recommend anything but diesel
