Tapping into the air compressor system?

How cool would it be to be able to have a air hose nozzle attachment such that we could quick connect into the air system. My old motorhome was like that.

Is this possible?

It's standard on the Touareg with the air supension. They have a hose under one of the seats I believe.

on the Touareg you can use this to re-inflate tyres too. I believe there is even a pressure gauge included.

Great for when you need to lower pressure for a particular off road surface and re-inflate... just like a Hummer (but his is done in the cab).

Imagine going to the beach or camping and being able to blow up dingies and air beds !

If there were a nozzle to attach an air hose, we could use it for whatever we wanted! First on the list would be to air up the tires after airing down. I have hose and lots of attachments for tires, inflatable toys, tubes, etc.

The problem with using the compressed air is that there is a dessicant (dryer) that absorbs moisture from the incoming air, and is recharged (dried out again) when compressed air exits the system. This works because it is a "closed" system. If you were too liberal in the use of the compressed (and dried) air for "external purposes", you would cause the dessicant to become saturated. This is why on the Touareg they advise to only use the air nozzle to inflate the spare tire and not for anything else.
