Whoops. Read the rules wrong. Only applies to cars that qualify for an emission test (petrol) that originally had a cat fitted and of course diesel cars are just a smoke test. Sorry for confusion. Embarassed

This is correct. Compression ignition engines (diesel) do not need a cat for an MOT

Spark ignition (petrol) do, even if it will pass an emission test without a cat, it will still fail if not present

It seems the difficulty is finding someplace who has one in stock...

Cut the cat open, chisel the insides out, and weld back together Thumbs Up

yeah and it wont fit!!, that's why the Alisport one was developed and ensured it was a unbolt and refit match,

you take your chance with other manufactuer ones, there is plenty of history of the ones that don't fit, Alisport stands by his to just do as it says on the tin. Thumbs Up

Old post I know but.......

Does anybody have any recommendations of where I could get a decat pipe for Discovery 3 tdv6 2006?
I’d like one that actually fits without any issues. I’ve read some horror stories about badly manufactured ones that require extra work to fit them. I’m after a decent direct replacement. I’ve seen a lot about online but I’ve no idea which are the good from the bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
