I think Im just going to have to wait for my tyres to wear out!!
I also agree that the delay in auto wipe doesnt help
One plus point the ,kids love it & encourage as much puddle emptying as possible!!

Great fun when playing in muddy puddles offroad.
Always check the depth before you drive through a strange muddy puddle.

I have MTR's fitted and depending on speed can still get serious amounts of water over the screen, but you have to be trying hard enough and usually know it'll happen so flick the wipers on.
With scorpions and wranglers the amount of water was a lot more, as well as the squirming moment when you initially hit it (if deep enough) and the front goes light for an instant. You don't get that with MTR's
As mentioned above, it's fun for the kids. My lad eggs me on when puddles are evident. I always hope that the puddle does not hide a pothole

I just kind of assumed someone spent a lot of design time to achieve the effect...
My girls are 12 and 10 and still think it's a real hoot. Mind you, it's not so clever when the puddle turns out to be mostly slurry - that took some serious cleaning to get off the sides, bonnet, roof...

I'm trialling a mod at the moment. I have a stiff plastic flap in front of the nearside wheel, sticking down about 3" from the base of the car, and just less than the width of the wheel well. I didn't make it too over-sized, as from observation on many other 4x4 cars such as the CRV, the forward water deflector doesn't appear to be that big.
After 4 weeks of trials I can confidently say it was a total and utter waste of time and effort. Zero difference to the 5' high grit loaded bow wave, and it's already been worn by the edge of the tyre when on full lock.
Frankly, it's cr@p - back to the drawing board. Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."

ive had that problem with all the 4x4's ive ever driven, defender, range rover, rrsport, frelander ect. its not much of a problem, infact i would rather have a clean windscreen than one covered in squashed flies. you just get used to it.
ive also had this in "normal cars" that is to say impreza est, rover 620, jaguar xk8 ect. vehicle history = 6 rover metro's 1 LR discovery 200Tdi
2 LR Defenders TD5, and a Discoevry 3. + 2 ducati
