I've had SuperPro bushes on my D3 front lower arms for about 1,500 miles now.
They haven't wrecked the ride (slightly firmer but not harsh) and I wouldn't expect to have to replace them after 2-3 years, unlike previous D3/D4/Armoured arms.
I will be putting up pics for the D3, which really needs to go as I have both old and new insured until 23rd March.
If anyone was worried about the SuperPro arms I'd happily swap them to standard for the cost of the arms alone (at least I know the bolts are lubed) and keep the SuperPro arms for when the arms on the new car inevitably fail.
DM. That arm. Other than them being a different make, maybe there was a gorilla that changed them and cut rather further than just the old bush. I took a couple of hours getting the old bushes out to make sure I didn't cause damage to the arm itself. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Many moons ago on Volvo trucks they used to use poly style bushes on the rear arb drop arms and they always wore the actual arb itself away.
I fitted poly style bushes to the 90 a few years ago after they all went south (they really dont like dirt/mud which seems to turn into a grinding paste which wears away the steel the bush is fitted into and the bushes steel sleeve, all were a swine to remove as they had rusted/rotted in which was annoying as plenty of grease used on fitting) I went back to std rubber jobs, no more issues since.
I look at it like this, trucks run metalastic rubber bushes, they last many many miles 500k is quite normal, if poly was better Im sure they would run them.
Conversely I have read poly ones are really good on the series models, but then you wouldnt really be able to tell if the ride was harsher or not

Truck bushes might last 500k miles, but my D3s have never had front lower bushes last more than 3 years, which is why I changed to SuperPro. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Not specifically for mine, no.
I had seen Beanie and another forum member had very favourable comments on them and I know that neither the original nor RRS ones lasted long in my experience, hence the change.
I haven't seen anyone say their SuperPro bushes wore out or otherwise deteriorated. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

I have had Superpro bushed lower arms fitted to my 2013 D4 commercial and must say I dislike how harsh they are.
Not too sure I would do the same when they are due to change.
They were changed at 120k approximately, not sure how long the others had done, but loose worn ones were much better! Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013

I fitted Polybushes to my first Discovery a D1, about 18yrs ago now.
I'd never do that again. Completely ruined it.

Update: fitted the Terrafirma Red dynamic polybushes |
|
Terrafirma Polybush outcome
Well that’s all the rear bushes changed to ‘Terrafirma Red Polybushes’ inc ARB bushes.
Took a bit of time to do as two of the bolts on each side were absolute Bars****s to get out!
Re-used existing original LR arms, removed rust with heavy duty wire cup in a grinder, resprayed with gloss black Plasticote then torched them with high output blowlamp to dry and bake on.
Fitted the bushes into arms, greased the steel inserts and refitted to my LR3
No difference to the ride at all except it now it does not bang about or wallow in the corners or feel like it’s a flying carpet in a bad way.
If you get any bolts that do not come out of the existing bushes... DO NOT CUT THE ARMS!, there is no need.
WD40 the hell out of everything!!
Ensure you protect and cables, wiring or brake pipes then heat each end of the bolt in turn making sure they are as hot as you can get them... does ‘not’ need to glow red.
Let them cool down then apply lots of WD40 and hit them hard on the threaded end to remove.
If they still do not move which may happen try to borrow an air chisel and drive it between the bolt head and the mounting bracket and it will move out.
Couple of points that ‘must’ be done:
1. Ensure the large bushes that have slotted holes through them like the originals are fitted in the orientation that the POOR diagram shows.
2. Sand back the small ends of the polybushes to ‘ensure’ the steel inserts are slightly longer than the polybushes... otherwise they will bind and squeak!
3. Fully grease the inside of the Polybushes, steel insert tubes and the mounting brackets on the chassis.
4. Cut a 5mm wide slot in the brake pipe retainer brackets on each arm as this prevents you having to separate the brake pipes and chance messing them up.
5. Install and take your time to make sure it’s good.

Seeing as this thread has come up again, and the newer black D3 having the brake recall issue meant I didn't sell the Grey D3...though watch this space!
Another 8 months on and I like the way it feels on the Superpros more than the originals and will replace the D3 with Superpros once it gets to that time again. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto
